Well done to you guys.
Still biting my nails here.
December 13th, 2006 at 4:45 pm
Another great day of new addtions. I’m getting so unhealthily anxious now… I haven’t made the list yet, so crossing my fingers and hoping I haven’t been rejected already.
Ok, deep breaths, deep breaths.
December 13th, 2006 at 4:57 pm
I’m with Chanproy on this one: Congrats to all who made it, and I’m still hoping for an invite. I’m not “unhealthily anxious”, but — well y’all get the point. Congrats again.
December 13th, 2006 at 4:57 pm
Hey Tyme. I tried sending you an email but am not sure if you got it. Do you think you could tell me that I have been rejected? Or could you tell me once you do? This would save lots of bandwidth of the (mt) servers thanks to me not obsessively refreshing RSS. If you could do this, it would be much appreciated.

Hey Tyme,
What’s your email address? You said you might tell if I got looked at yet…
December 13th, 2006 at 5:05 pm
Congrats, five.
Thursday. Friday. Nearly done, right?

Corey: we started on the 6th. It’s the 13th. We have another week of announcements.
Arthus, mattplanet – haven’t hit your sites yet so no you weren’t rejected.

Well that’s good news. I hope I hear even more good news in the days to come – not just for me but lots of other new sites out there.
I think my biggest problem is a lack of focus. I am not every good at tying all of my posts together and will often blog about different things. Part of this stems from where I learned how to write. In school, instead of us writing big, long esssays they have us do lots of short responses. Thus, instead of learning how to examine a topic in detail, I have learned how to write well enough on many differnt topics. My blog reflects this by having posts about many differnt things from philosophy to wristwatches. Still, I hope that I have some chance of getting into 9rules.

Arthus, I’m right there with you. I regularly write on several different topics. But if I understand what I’ve read about 9Rules via this website as well as at least 1 interview, I do not think the topic matters only the content. So even if you write on several topics, as long as the content is good, you probably still have a chance. I could be wrong since I do not work for 9Rules and this is simply an opinion based on what I’ve read. I’m sure someone from the community or that works for 9Rules will be more than happy to correct me.
While I have not seen my website get accepted yet I am still holding out hope.

I wasn’t sure how you guys were filtering through stuff. Start at one end of the pile and then slowly pluck out the good ones.
I am enjoying the anticipation surrounding all of this. I hope to be considered, but know there is always another round, and everything can always be better.
Keep up the good work, and best of luck to the 1100 or so of us left in limbo.

Yay, the 800′s section. Getting closer.
December 13th, 2006 at 6:13 pm
Congrats to another day of new additions to 9rules.

[...] I just noticed that Online Marketing Blog was included in the 9rules Network. So far there have been three, 24-hour submission rounds with hundreds of blogs trying to get in, but only a few make it, like Neil and Cameron’s Pronet Advertising Blog. In fact, although I’d met Neil at conferences before, I didn’t discover his blog until I found it on 9rules along with another favorite, Experience Curve. [...]

I felt a little confident this time round, but I’m losing hope with each passing day. Maybe my blog and lifestyle are too alternative to be in the network? Who knows. Anyway, best of luck to those who will continue to wait and congrats to the new inductees. Time to walk away from the 9rules fantasy…

JR, don’t be. I am personally still not in (or probably rejected already) but still, with one more week, there’s still some hope there, no?
Cheers and good luck, whoever are inside ^+^

Welcome to the fam and congrats!

Oh my God! Wow. I am honoured. I am really speechless. Thank you.

This is like Christmas and the presents keep coming.
Congrats Smar and congrats the others, who I will go check out right now.
December 14th, 2006 at 2:15 am
I wish I had known we were supposed to have focus.
Yikes.
People here do seem extremely straight and narrow but I have found some pretty good blogs looking through the members list, so at the very least I’m glad I found the site here.
You can tell me if you dissed me I won’t be hurt.

Hey JR,
I’m with you. I had high hopes but as each announcement passes, it looks like I’m out. I also am concerned that my content could hold me back, the general public doesn’t take it seriously.
There have been some very good sites that made it in and I have bookmarked many for further reading. Congrats to all who were invited into the community and I hope I can still join you.
December 14th, 2006 at 4:54 am
Congrats to all who just made it. I subscribed to your feeds.

[...] The thing is, I’m not officially in yet. Apparently, I would have to sign some sort of contract. One of the guys behind 9rules, Tyme White said on the 9rules blog that he is going contact the people who have been accepted. Here’s how our conversation is going to go: Tyme: “You’ve been acce..” Smaran: “Where do I sign?!!” [...]

Gosh, so many great sites are getting in. At the beginning I was getting a little depressed thinking “what will happen if my site isn’t accepted, Then I had a talk with my brother who is a member, and he helped me out with that. I understand if I don’t get accepted, and I’m ok with that. I guess I just want to say thanks to all the new members and the members already here, you guys inspire me to be better, and keep improving. I can’t wait to see the final list, I am proud of all you guys!!!

R-to the double-AA- D!
i couldn’t sleep tonight so I got up to futz around on the computer and in checking the blog stats saw the influx of referrers from 9rules.com. did a quick search on 9rules and found this page- so stoked… I’ve been waiting to add that little green flower to the sidebar for almost two years now
Thank you – I will not let the 9rules community down!

[...] So I was checking the server logs at 5am (because that’s what you do at 5am when you can’t sleep) and I noticed a spike in traffic from the 9rules.com domain. Digging further I came across this page on their site which lists the latest round of acceptances to their network. Wow. I’m peeing myself right now. This is the third time I have applied and I’ve been waiting to add their little 9rules flower to my sidebar for nearly two years now. Thank you Scrivs and Tyme for the add. Being the guy who was religiously picked dead-last in kickball and turned down by the fraternity the I rushed in college, it feels pretty freakin’ amazing to finally get accepted to a club

Welcome 9rules visitors!…
This comes as a mild surprise to me insert shallow smirk, but my traffic logs and feed reader tell me that tunequest has been accepted into 9rules. What this means for the site, I don’t know yet. I must admit that I’ve not devoted as much t…

How important is it that your blog have a strong and specific focus?
December 14th, 2006 at 3:21 pm
Soooo cool. All of the Lopers are happy to be part of the 9rules family. Thanks for inviting us.
Congrats to everyone else who made it, and good luck to those of you who are still waiting.
When do we learn the secret handshake?
December 14th, 2006 at 4:01 pm
Arthus: I had the same question. Maybe we can suggest a new category: Scattergun. I know I’d be a shoe-in for that one. (By the looks of it, so would you.)

I think it’s the content that matters. I blog about a lot of things, but my base is technology.
