Doing my Facebook thing

Written by Tyme White on October 12, 2006

Looking at my Facebook friends this morning, I went to Khairi’s site and guess what was there? Nelly Furtado – Maneater. Yeah baby! After dancing to that a couple of times, I went to Andrew’s site and read:

How did MySpace develop such popularity with the 35+ crowd? What value are these old people deriving from MySpace? Do they have their top 8 work associates (or grandkids) on their front page?

And then cracked up laughing at:

Conversely, Internet users between the ages of 35-54 now account for 40.6 percent of the MySpace visitor base, an 8.2 percentage point increase during the past year.

Extremely amused I went to Chris’ site and learned about 6,854. Humbled by those statistics I went to Chris Price’s site and became very baffled as to why the archive page starts with entries in 2004?

Still slightly bewildered I went to Brett’s site and thoroughly enjoyed watching Sexual Consent…a fun way to look at a serious topic.

And it’s not even 10am yet. What are you doing on Facebook? See, I really do visit my friends.

  1. Chris Says:

    Thanks for the link Tyme!

  2. Andrew Parker Says:

Glad you were amused. There are new stories circulating the net that (surprise!) comScore’s metrics and measurement methods are mis-guided. Even if the numbers aren’t exact, I still believe that the trend is true.

  3. Jina Bolton Says:

This sounds like how I spend 20% of my day. (Begin with Facebook/MySpace/Flickr, end up with 50 new sites in my bookmarks…)

  4. Joost de Valk Says:

Hehe, i’m curious as to what else you find in your new Facebook friends ;)

  5. Chris Price Says:

Thanks for the link. Ouch, but good point. For what it’s worth, not much to be baffled by — I took a hiatus for two years after Bush won to get my groove back. Just relaunched.

Looks like I better start writing a lot more quickly so the archives don’t look like they were programmed by a monkey.

And, lastly, thanks for visiting. Impressive.

This is totally unbelievable. *klong* *klong* hitting my empty head against the wall. I still can’t believe that you put a link to my blog. Thanks Tyme, you have no idea how much i appreciate this :)

  7. Brett Says:

Glad that I can make you laugh. I can’t believe that I made it onto the 9rules blog! o_0 I’m happy though as its not good enought ot be admitted imo. :)
