9rules Members Up For Bloggies
Written by Mike Rundle on January 23, 2006
After being a few days late to post the finalists, the 2006 Bloggies are finally up and ready to be voted on. 9rules members up for an award:
- Drawn! for Best New Weblog, written by 9ruler John Martz.
- 456 Berea Street for Best Web Development Weblog, written by Roger Johansson.
- Particle Tree for Best Web Development Weblog, written by Kevin Hale, Ryan Campbell, and Chris Campbell.
- Girlspoke for Best Podcast of a Weblog, written by <lots of female names here> It looks like the Girlspoke girls are having some server troubles right now, so hopefully they make it back up to pick up some votes.

Thanks for the mention! Drawn!’s main competition in our category is Post Secret (as it’s nominated in several other categories as well) so we appreciate your votes!

I entered the competition, but I choked near the end of the year. I couldn’t keep up with freakin’ Roger :p

Well done, guys.
Roger and Girlspoke have definitely got my votes.

Is it just me, or are the Best Design blogs kind of a disappointment this year? They’re not horrible, but none of them particularly blew my mind. I was really surprised to not see any 9rulers show up in that category. What a shame.

Congradulations on your nominations! I’ll definetly get around to reading those blogs even thought I don’t do much coding.
Lindsay, I know what you mean. I too had to wonder about some of the nominations. Does digg or slashdot even count as a web blog? While digg certainly contributes to the blogging community, I’d hardly say they were a source of original content.

Shoot can someone delete that first comment and this one? I just spotted a typo and canceled half way through the click.
Thanks!

Lindsay: yeah, people like Wolfgang and Mark really ought to be up there in the Best Design category.

I hear ya Lindsay!

I agree as well on the design category. But then again there are ‘strange entries’ in many categories. Unfortunately these nominations make it look like some sort of popularity contest rather than a serious award.
I do think the 9rulers that did get nominated deserve a bloggie. Fortunately at least some ‘right’ sites were nominated
