I like Pivot as well and I’m actively developing for it in order to make it better and better but honestly WP is very nice. One thing I just cannot get with is the Kubrick theme. I don't know if it is the wide iPod look, the coding, or both. I just to ball it up and flush it down the toilet. I never worked with WP very much (I use Pivot myself) but recently I started hacking into WP because I wanted to port some plugins I wrote for Pivot that turned out to be extremely useful to WP in order to make it available for a larger audience. (it's an anti-comment-spam plugin and most needed: an anti-trackbackspam plugin). I'm really impressed with WP both in terms of what it can do but also with the plugin API. It just rocks a llama's ass. I cranked out two perfectly working plugins that include database tables and admin screens in just two coding sessions. I've used MT for over a year and I really never liked it. It felt slow, sluggish and not very flexible and it's written in PERL which happens to be a language I wouldn't even go and hack around in if people gave me cash or pointed a gun at me (well maybe then I would...;) ).
