Successful strategies for commenting your code

Ryan Campbell, of Particle Tree, has written an excellent article on how to properly comment your code. This article was recently featured on Slashdot, and has been revered by all that have read it.
Commenting your code, whether its for a simple Web site or a complicated application, is always a good idea. For those of you just getting into programming and Web development, commenting your code is a must if you would ever want to work in a group. Typically, in a company setting, there is going to be more than one person who has the clearance to edit a given block of code - and if its properly commented it will cut down on mistakes of those editing it which were not the original author.
Ryan’s tips in his article deserve the recent attention - and we’re glad to have the entire Particle Tree team in the Network.

Not to pick nits, but from the comments on that post it was most assuredly not revered by all who read it.
Although I agree that it is great to have them in the network. It was a timely well written article, wether or not I agree with it.

Seriously, Colin. WTF. It was, at the least, a lukewarm reception. Some might even argue that the hatred factor is high for it.
While I thought the article was a tad insightful, I, personally, can’t stand that Ryan character. It might be the way he eats his sandwiches. Keeps dissecting them. Never trusts what’s between the bread.
